She advises and represents healthcare employers in the sponsorship of physicians, researchers, and allied health and support professionals, guiding clients through complex nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes before the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Ms. Sutherland represents a broad spectrum of employers, including nonprofit organizations, nationally recognized universities, large health systems, and rural healthcare clinics, helping them develop immigration strategies that support both immediate staffing needs and long-term workforce planning.

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Ms. Sutherland earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University. She received her Juris Doctor, with honors, from George Mason University School of Law, where she clerked for the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration Litigation Division.

Ms. Sutherland is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
